Julie Shafer is a multifaceted nonprofit consultant. She leverages her depth of knowledge in the grant making world with executive experience and organizational skills gained from more than 15 years as a professional in the world of philanthropy.
Discreet and meticulous, Julie brings an unparalleled fresh perspective to the individual donor and the nonprofit organization. Julie advises on smart philanthropy that mirrors a donor’s passion. Her creative, strategic, effective and measurable approach allows nonprofits to quickly examine their model and reenergize their process.
Julie has served as the initial Executive Director of the Silver Giving Foundation, as well as the Director of Development for the Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases. Comfortable in all settings, Julie works efficiently with nonprofits to establish a dependable and consistent flow of resources, increase the effectiveness of leadership, and leverage her extensive community network to recruit outstanding candidates for executive positions.
Julie has a BA from the University of California, a MFCC from University of San Francisco and is a certified pastry chef. She lives in San Francisco with her three sons. When out of the kitchen, Julie competes in triathlons.
