Jon Firger has twenty plus years of experience in coaching and planning. He specializes in “coaching” models which help managers build upon their strengths, understand their weaknesses and learn from their mistakes. Firger has specialized in leading agencies and their managers through organizational transitions, whether due to periods of rapid growth, or required downsizing. He has lead teams of managers, staff and Board members through strategic planning, business planning and “re-invention” of organizational identity. He has helped them to create a “learning organization” that can effectively use scarce resources to respond quickly to a rapidly changing business environment.
Jon received his M.S.W. in 1981 from Boston College and his M.B.A. in 2002 from Salem State College. His twenty plus years of nonprofit executive experience include eleven years at The Psychological Center in Lawrence, Massachusetts and then sixteen years as the CEO of Jewish Family Service of the North Shore in Salem Massachusetts. He is currently the Executive Director of the Newton Community Service Center in Newton Massachusetts. In addition, he was recently an adjunct faculty member at Salem State College’s School of Business, where he taught “Organizational Behavior” and “Leadership in Management.”
