William Ferstenfeld has 42 years of experience, knowledge and special skills in synagogue administration, finance, governance and fundraising. He served as Executive Director of Keneseth Israel in Elkins Park, PA for 25 years, Temple Israel, Temple Shaaray Tefila (both in Manhattan), Union Temple of Brooklyn, Temple B’nai Or, Morristown, NJ and as Campaign Coordinator of the Jewish Federation-UJC of Las Vegas.
Bill is a certified Fellow in Temple Administration (F.T.A.) through the Joint Certification Board of the National Association for Temple Administration (NATA), Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR) and the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ). He is a Past President of NATA and served on the NATA Board of Directors for many years. Bill also served on the URJ Board of Trustees and Executive Committee as well as the URJ Commission on Synagogue Management. Over the years, Bill has led numerous fundraising and finance workshops at URJ National and Regional Biennials, NATA Conferences as well as the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College’s Senior Seminar Program. Bill has also written articles about fundraising and development in the NATA Journal and the Las Vegas Jewish Reporter and has been quoted in the Jewish Exponent (Philadelphia) and the Philadelphia Inquirer on various issues relating to the synagogue and the Jewish community.
